Description

Discover the sacred and hidden Kuza Cave in Kibigija village, Jambiani along the Eastern Coast of Zanzibar. Swim in the turquoise waters of the cave, learn about the Swahili culture, and take part in a cooking class. Meet your guide and head to the Kuza Cave. Admire the verdant vegetation and a 50-meter round pool with beautiful turquoise water. Swim in the pool to cool off after a short hike. Learn about the cave's history and the artifacts found inside. After your swim, take part in a Swahili cooking class. Prepare some delicious Swahili dishes from blended Zanzibar spices. After preparation of these meals, partake in them and enjoy some of the common mouth-watering cuisines prepared including the Coconut bean soup, chapatti, Coconut milk curry, Urojo soup, and the finger-licking Zanzibar Pizza. Next, take part in drumming and singing lessons. Spend 45-60 minutes with on-site Swahili artists to sing about Swahili culture and traditions. Whether you are a beginner or advanced drummer, your aspirations will be satisfied. Finally, visit the Kuza Cave Cultural Center, a not-for-profit organization working hand in hand with local communities in Jambani area to support their projects such as women empowerment programs, constructing nursery schools, conserving their local wildlife, providing meals to school-going children, providing employment opportunities, and culture promotion through workshops.
