Saifa Shop manufactures different models of hand bags - utilizing Kanga, Vitenge and Batik - different types of hats, wallets, pouches, hair ties, pot holders and much more, all 'Hand Made in Zanzibar'. Established 1992, SAIFA, at that time, produced hand-screen printed t-shirts for hotels and developments projects (Jozani Forest, Ngezi Forest in Pemba, Ministry of Environment: protection of corals, mangroves and sea turtles) before the emphasis shifted. Everything is made from vibrant African fabric, be it locally sourced kanga and kitenge, or Tanzanian Batik, and its a good place to pick up souvenirs from some of the islands best fair-trade producers.
